Mental health support
for your people

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides your employees with confidential access to professional psychological support, for work-related difficulties or personal issues that affect their wellbeing and performance.

At Pre-Emptive Healthcare, our EAP is delivered by the same experienced registered psychologists who run our clinical services, not call-centre counsellors or app-based chatbots. Your people deserve real, human support.

Sessions are typically short-term (3–6 sessions) and solution-focused, designed to address immediate difficulties and equip employees with skills to manage ongoing challenges. Family members of employees are also eligible.

Truly Confidential

Employees access EAP services independently. Your organisation will never know who used the service or what was discussed. Only de-identified utilisation data is reported back.

Real Clinicians

All sessions are provided by registered psychologists, the same team who deliver our individual and couples therapy. No outsourcing, no chatbots. Real expertise, real care.

Flexible Access

Sessions are available in-person in Balwyn North and via telehealth. Employees can book directly and access support at a time that suits them, including outside business hours.

Common EAP Presentations

EAP sessions address both work-related and personal issues that impact an employee's wellbeing.

01

Workplace Stress & Burnout

High workloads, deadline pressure, unclear expectations, and chronic stress (practical strategies to manage demands and avoid burnout).

02

Workplace Conflict

Interpersonal difficulties with colleagues, managers, or direct reports (developing communication skills and strategies for navigating difficult working relationships).

03

Performance Anxiety

Presentation anxiety, fear of failure, imposter syndrome, and difficulties with confidence (building a more grounded and effective professional self).

04

Anxiety & Depression

Personal mental health difficulties that are affecting work engagement, attendance, or relationships (short-term support and appropriate referral pathways).

05

Grief & Loss

Bereavement, serious illness, relationship breakdown (supporting employees through personal losses with professional, compassionate psychological care).

06

Relationship & Family Issues

Personal and family difficulties that are impacting work wellbeing, including relationship conflict, parenting stress, and family change.

For Employers & Employees

Setting up an EAP with Pre-Emptive Healthcare is straightforward, for both organisations and their people.

1
For Employers

Organisation Enquiry & Agreement

Contact us to discuss your organisation's size, needs, and what EAP structure would work best. We'll prepare a service agreement covering session allocations, billing arrangements, and reporting. EAP can be structured as a per-session fee or an annual package. We'll recommend what suits your organisation.

2
Roll-Out

Communicating EAP to Your Team

We'll provide a simple one-pager or email template you can share with employees, explaining how to access the EAP, what it covers, and the confidentiality guarantee. Clear communication is key to uptake. Employees are more likely to use EAP when they understand and trust it.

3
Employee Access

Direct Booking: No Employer Involvement

Employees contact us directly to book. They don't need employer permission or a referral. They simply mention they're accessing the EAP through their employer and provide the organisation name. Sessions are scheduled at their convenience, in-person or via telehealth.

4
Sessions

Short-Term, Focused Support

EAP sessions are typically 3–6 sessions per issue, solution-focused and goal-directed. If an employee requires longer-term support beyond the EAP, we'll discuss appropriate pathways, including transition to private Medicare sessions, so support continues without interruption.

5
Reporting

De-Identified Utilisation Reports

We provide periodic utilisation reports to the employer, showing uptake numbers and general themes (e.g. "work stress" vs "personal issues") without any identifying information about individual employees or session content. This helps organisations understand the value of their EAP investment.

Why Choose Pre-Emptive Healthcare?

Registered Psychologists, Not Counsellors

Frequently Asked

Will my employer know I'm using the EAP?

No. EAP services are entirely confidential. Your employer will only receive de-identified, aggregate utilisation data (for example, "12 employees accessed EAP this quarter"), never who used the service or what was discussed. The confidentiality of EAP is protected by the same ethical and legal obligations as all psychology services.

Can family members use the EAP?

Yes. In most EAP arrangements, immediate family members (partner/spouse and dependent children) are eligible to access sessions under the same entitlement as the employee. This recognises that personal and family issues often directly affect work performance and wellbeing.

How quickly can employees access a session?

We aim to see EAP clients within 3–5 business days of initial contact. For urgent situations, we'll do our best to accommodate as quickly as possible. Telehealth sessions can often be arranged sooner than in-person, particularly for first contacts.

What if an employee needs more than the allocated sessions?

If longer-term support is needed, we'll discuss appropriate pathways with the employee, including transition to Medicare-funded psychology sessions with a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP. This ensures support continues without interruption, while keeping EAP costs predictable for the organisation.

Do you offer critical incident support?

Yes. Critical incident debriefing and response can be arranged for organisations following a significant workplace event (serious injury, death of a colleague, traumatic incident). Please contact us directly to discuss your needs and we'll arrange appropriate support as quickly as possible.
