About Dr. Seiler
Dr Natalie Seiler is a consultant psychiatrist with broad experience across emergency, acute inpatient and community psychiatry, eating disorders, neuropsychiatry, neurostimulation, trauma-related presentations and perinatal mental health.
She has particular interests in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Natalie takes a thoughtful and individualised approach to psychiatric care. She recognises that each person's experiences, circumstances and perspectives are unique, and places importance on developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship. She works alongside patients to understand the difficulties they are experiencing, identify meaningful goals and consider treatment options that are appropriate to their individual circumstances.
Her assessments take a comprehensive biopsychosocial approach and may include relevant investigations or information from other treating practitioners where appropriate. Natalie is committed to evidence-based practice and combines clinical experience with a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to support recovery and wellbeing.
Alongside her private practice, Natalie works as a Consultant Psychiatrist within the Eating Disorders Unit at Austin Health and has extensive experience across a range of hospital and community mental health services.
Natalie is also actively involved in psychiatric research, medical education and postgraduate teaching. She has worked academically with The University of Melbourne, has presented her research at numerous professional conferences, and has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications across areas including eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and neurostimulation.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), has completed advanced training in Adult Psychiatry and has further accreditation in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and RANZCP trainee supervision.
