How to Access NDIS Services

Working with us under your NDIS plan is straightforward. Here's how it works.

1
Check Your Plan

Confirm Your Funding

Check that your NDIS plan includes Improved Daily Living (IDL) funding. Psychology services are billed under this support category. If you're unsure, your support coordinator can help you review your plan. If you don't yet have an NDIS plan, we can help you obtain the assessment reports needed to apply.

2
Contact Us

Initial Enquiry

Call or email us to discuss your situation, your NDIS goals, and what type of psychology support would be most useful. We'll confirm whether we can support you under your plan type (self-managed, plan-managed, or NDIA-managed) and arrange an initial appointment.

3
Service Agreement

Setting Up the Agreement

We'll prepare a service agreement that outlines the supports to be provided, session frequency, and how billing will be managed. This is forwarded to your plan manager or support coordinator for sign-off. For self-managed participants, we'll invoice you directly and you claim the reimbursement from NDIS.

4
Ongoing Sessions

Goal-Directed Psychology Sessions

Regular sessions with your psychologist focus on the goals identified in your NDIS plan, building skills, improving wellbeing, and increasing your capacity to live and participate more independently. Sessions are at our Balwyn North rooms or via telehealth.

5
Review

Progress Reports & Plan Reviews

We provide regular progress reports and can assist with plan review documentation, demonstrating goal achievement and ongoing support needs. We're experienced in writing reports that meet NDIS requirements and support continued funding.

Plan Types & Billing

Plan Types We Accept

  • Self-managed: Invoice provided directly to participant. Participant claims from NDIS portal.
  • Plan-managed: Invoice sent to your plan manager. No out-of-pocket cost to you.
  • NDIA-managed: We bill the NDIS directly via the NDIS portal. No cost to you.

We bill in line with the NDIS Price Guide for psychology services. Please contact us to confirm current rates.

NDIS & Medicare Together

  • In some cases, both NDIS and Medicare supports can be used together. Speak with your support coordinator or GP about what applies to your situation.
  • NDIS psychology is separate from Medicare psychology (MHCP). Funding cannot be claimed for the same session under both schemes.
  • We're happy to discuss how to get the most from your available supports.

Frequently Asked

What NDIS support category covers psychology?

Psychology services are funded under Improved Daily Living (IDL), Support Category 15. This covers individual therapy sessions, assessments, reports, and skill-building activities with a registered psychologist. Check your plan to confirm you have IDL funding. If you're unsure, your support coordinator can help.

Do I need an NDIS plan to see you?

No. We see both NDIS and non-NDIS clients. If you don't have an NDIS plan yet and are considering applying, we can help by providing the psychometric assessment reports often required to support access requests. Many clients also access services through Medicare or as private patients.

Can you help me write reports for my NDIS application?

Yes. We can conduct functional assessments and write reports documenting the impact of a condition on daily functioning, a common requirement for NDIS access requests and plan reviews. These reports are written to NDIS standards and provide the evidence needed to support your application.

What if my NDIS funding runs out mid-therapy?

We'll monitor your funding levels and alert you when it's running low. If your plan review is upcoming, we can provide the evidence to support requesting continued funding. In the meantime, many clients transition to Medicare or private-pay sessions to avoid interrupting their progress.
